Pistachio Shell

Pistachio shell, thanks to its hard, lignin-rich structure, is a biomass fuel that gives balanced heat in stoves and solid-fuel boilers with a reference calorific value of ~4,300–4,800 kcal/kg. Its dense structure also makes it a sought-after raw material in activated-carbon production; when moisture is kept low, combustion efficiency rises markedly. One of the most in-demand shell fuels, pistachio shell is supplied by Haroğlu International by the truckload on domestic-delivery and export terms. You can request a quote for the wholesale per-tonne price, a sample and delivery.

Sales Unit Tonne / Sack
Minimum Order 1 truckload (~21 tonnes)
Packaging Options Bulk · Big bag · Sack
  • Hard, Dense — Balanced Heat A high lignin content gives long-lasting, balanced, high-calorific combustion in stoves and boilers.
  • Activated-Carbon Raw Material Its dense carbon structure makes pistachio shell a sought-after input for activated-carbon production.
  • Most In-Demand Shell Fuel Sourced from the Antep region; supplied by the truckload on domestic-delivery and export terms.

Areas of Use

  • Stove and solid-fuel boiler Its hard, dense structure gives balanced, long-lasting heat in stoves and boilers.
  • Biomass energy A high lignin content provides efficient combustion; suitable for biomass plants and industrial boilers.
  • Activated-carbon raw material Its dense carbon structure is a sought-after input for activated-carbon production in filtration and treatment.
  • Greenhouse and kiln heating Its low-moisture dry supply gives high combustion efficiency and stable heat in greenhouses and kilns.

Technical Reference Values

Pistachio shell, thanks to its hard, lignin-rich structure, gives a balanced, high higher heating value (HHV) in stoves and boilers; when moisture is kept low, combustion efficiency rises markedly. Its dense structure is also a sought-after property in activated-carbon production.

Higher heating value (HHV) ~4,550 – 4,800 kcal/kg (19 – 20 MJ/kg)
Lower heating value (LHV) ~4,300 – 4,550 kcal/kg (18 – 19 MJ/kg)
Structure Hard, dense — high lignin
Moisture content Low (dry supply)
Ash content ~1.5–3%

Values are reference ranges drawn from biomass literature; they may vary with the product’s origin, harvest period and moisture. Analysis values specific to the shipment are shared on request.

Order & Delivery

Order, delivery and payment terms

  • Minimum Order Usually 1 truckload (about 21 tonnes); on request we also ship from 10 tonnes.
  • Delivery & Shipping Shipment from our Malatya, Giresun and Maku (Iran) locations to all provinces of Türkiye and for export. Freight arrangement and cost sharing are agreed per order.
  • Payment Advance or on terms; conditions are clarified during the quotation. Our prices are updated according to the exchange rate and raw-material costs — contact us for a current quote. Our bank details are shared only at the quotation and contract stage, through a verified channel.
  • Export (Incoterms) For international shipments we work on an EXW (ex works) and FOB (free on board) basis; the delivery point is clarified by agreement with the buyer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does pistachio shell burn well in a stove?

Yes. Thanks to its hard, dense structure, with a higher heating value (HHV) of 19–20 MJ/kg (about 4,550–4,800 kcal/kg) it gives balanced, long-lasting heat in stoves and solid-fuel boilers. When moisture is kept low, efficiency rises further.

Are pistachio shell and peanut shell the same?

No. Pistachio shell is the hard, dense outer shell of the pistachio; it is primarily a high-calorific fuel and activated-carbon raw material. Peanut shell is light and fibrous, used both as feed/bedding and as fuel.

Why is it preferred for activated carbon?

Its high lignin and dense carbon structure provide high porosity and carbon yield after carbonization; this makes it valuable for activated-carbon production in the filtration and treatment sector.

How do minimum order and delivery work?

One of the most in-demand shell fuels, pistachio shell is usually supplied by the truckload, and in smaller lots on request. You can request a sample and a quote for domestic and export shipment.

Pistachio Shell Price & Delivery

Pistachio Shell has no fixed list price; the per-tonne, big-bag and sack price depends on the harvest, moisture and cleanliness, packaging and delivery distance. For the current pistachio shell per-tonne, sack and kg price and a wholesale quote, contact us — we reply within 24 hours.

From our Malatya base we ship across Türkiye and for export (EXW/FOB). Minimum order: 1 truckload (~21 tonnes). Packaging: Bulk · Big bag · Sack.
